Are 8 rated bindings on a 6 rated board that sort of mismatch? Wish I could demo this stuff. Seems like manufacturers ratings are kind of all over and not objective.

My issue was seldom with the toe strap. It almost never randomly tightened and when it falls down I simply push it back in place when I clear the snow. All one motion. I had most of the issue with the upper rachet tightening and it had nothing to do with how I moved while skating. If that issue happens with this years straps/rachets then it would be the same for the both style straps. I will say that the single strap is more comfortable then the new type. The only reason I got the SE over the AT was because it is more flexible.

By the way, comparing stiffness ratings between companies is not accurate. Every company has their own scale and what is considered soft/hard will vary a good bit company to company.

NX2-AT is a great all-mountain binding, and for your board and type of riding definitely not too stiff. I'd pick that one over the Fuse for you.

May I ask why you think the Flow website sucks?

Thanks for the response. I already purchased Fuse SE's on JD's recommendation and have since realized that they are not right for me, thanks to other websites. I will be be selling them at a loss and buying AT's.

My issue with the Flow site is that it tries to make every binding sound as if it can do everything. A clear description of its intended uses, strengths and weaknesses would be helpful. A chart maybe? Something that educates as to the differences between the myriad models. It is difficult to quickly and easily ascertain the strengths/purpose of each model.

I feel bad that they were not right for you and you got them off of my words. Since I'm considering them, what did you find wrong with for your riding? I'm also interested in buying them if you're selling, What color and size?

They are black larges, NIB. I decided against using them once I found there are really designed for parks, and I don't intend on doing anything but cruising and looking for powder and glades. As for price, I figured if I sold them for $50 under retail they would be worth it for someone. I am leaving for vail next week and am going to put one of the AT's on it first.

And not your fault, I was just so amped to buy them I pulled trigger too fast.

If you never used them why wouldn't you just return/exchange them?

Also if you're really thinking about using them for powder, I'd suggest reconsidering flows and going with a traditional binding. Flows and powder haven't traditionally mixed well, though I believe the new nasty strap help address those issues.

As someone that has been trapped in a creek in powder with older Flows on I will say this. The new ratchets, that started last season, completely solve the issue.

A CO friend of mine works at a shop and used his employee discount to get me the bindings. Now that I have decided I ordered the wrong thing I don't want to hassle him with returning these and re-shipping (or admit I do t know what I am doing), so I am going to sell these and go to local REI to pay full price for AT's. Turned a good deal into a mess.
