Buying new bindings (~$150) and question on stance...

so ive made a few threads now - i am completely buying new stuff (board, bindings, and eventually boots). ive been boarding since 2003 but only on occasion and im still using a Forum Elite 156 from 2004. im 5'11-6'0, 200lbs, size 13 boot.

i think the boots i have now might be a size too big - they're a size 13. im a size 11.5-12 typically in sneakers so i have no idea. they feel fine but who knows.

so a couple of questions:

1. probably should buy a wide board even if i get new boots in the 11.5-12 range - correct? if so i've settled on the NS Legacy or Cobra X

2. what size/brand/model bindings should i look at? i've been advised on the burton cartels

3. what is a "typical" stance for a goofy-footed rider who wants to mainly cruise but hit jumps/rails occasionally? im sure this is highly dependent but id like a starting point

1 - yes
2 - Large Burton Cartels or XL Union Force/contact pro's are a good choice
3 - -10 / +18

agree mostly, but I would start at 15/15 stance and go from there, doesnt really matter. I have enjoyed 15/18, 12/18, 12/12, lately I like 15/15. I'm big on center stance twin riding though.

I think for the stance you should play around with it.

I started out doing 12 on the lead foot and 0 on the back leg. Then moved them and played around around till I was comfortable. Now I'm at +15/-15.

Take a few runs, with each setup and find something that you feel comfortable.

thanks man, and thanks to the rest of you.

the burton cartels seem to be the binding for me.
