Help on binding adjustments

I apologize if this is in the wrong section or if it's been already posted. I just bought some new flux ds bindings size large and have vans 10.5 boots. Since I had medium mission bindings before and since I'm on the boarder with the large bindings, I'm not sure how the footbed should actually fit. I guess my question is should the footbed go all the way to the tip of my boots and to the edge of my heel covering the whole bottom of my boot? Because on my other bindings my toes would overhang bout an inch. Is there an advantage or disadvantage to do this? Will there be a big difference in handling? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question.
