Default Targa vs Cartel

I'm trying to decide between the Rome Targa vs Burton Cartel. I can get a sick deal of either of these and really just want something I can depend on for a while and which will grow with me.

Deck is a Forum Kitchen Sink. I'm an intermediate rider, I ride all-mountain and park mixed in. I'll be on mostly groomed trails and varying snow conditions from resort snowment to the occasional light pow.

Thanks

Cartel or 390 boss from Rome for your riding style.

Thanks. I did end up going with the Targas in the end because I like customizability and the deal was just too sick to pass up.

Also, I couldn't get the 390's in my size and the Cartels, I found out, were last year's version. Not that it probably makes much of a difference.

I think it'll end up being fine... anything will be better than the rentals I had been going with

if you dont have burton boots DON'T GET THE CARTELS. they destroy the back heal of your boots i have nike boots with the cartels and have been riding them for a year and are almost shot for that reason.

Hum weird.. I only ride vans boots and my cartels have never wrecked any of my boots.

Does it have reinforcement on the back heal like the burton boots do?

I had targas for a short while and didn't like them at all. Heavy and all that fiddly adjustment was a big negative for me. I've got the stiffer cartels from a couple of seasons back and love them.

Yup, Burton bindings chewed up my Nike boot as well. I rode a a demo board that had Burton bindings. It, too, chewed the back of my Nike boot. If you look at a Burton boot, they generally have a reinforcement in the heel that interface with their bindings.
