Default Women's Union Bindings - Problem

Hello! New to the forum, been a reader for a while now

This will be my 8th year snowboarding. For the past 7 years I've been using cheapo but awesome kid's forum bindings (I'm 5'0 and a size 5 boot).

This year, I decided to take the jump and splurged on Union Milan Bindings in snazzy alien green and purple..

Then just this year, I noticed that my toe-side has gone absolute havoc, I've slipped and caught an edge while on my toes so many times and I wasn't sure why.

After closer inspection, I noticed two things:

1. My heels were hanging over my board (GNU B-Street 141cm) and my toes were half an inch inside the board - I tried correcting this by moving the settings but my boot is just too small so it is now 50/50 in the middle and not hanging over on both ends

2. I noticed my toe strap was completely loose so I tightened overall but I still notice the boot doesn't really quite fit the toe strap

My questions were....Is it possible for these bindings to just not fit my feet? Is it possible for someone's riding style to be so affected by bindings? Should I stick to kids bindings? What are your thoughts on flow-in bindings given that I have such small feet, maybe this design will be more secure?...

Thank you so much for your help !!!

Hi and welcome.

I have the Milan in a previous year so I'll try to help.

Are you running the toe strap as a cap strap or over the toe box strap? If the former, it may be that the insert ends are not positioned correctly in the grooves. For cap strap, you want the insert ends to be in the grooves nearer to the heel, not the ones nearer to the toe. If not positioned correctly, there will be issues with slippage/fit for sure. If you have the insert positions correct, some pics might help.

What size bindings? I'm assuming the Small...with a size 5 boot I'd think a Small would fit (just for reference I wear a size 8 boot with Med Unions hence the assumption).

For sure a strap issue can affect performance. Just the other day I felt something wasn't quite right with the response in my lead foot toeside, stopped on the side of the trail to see I'd forgotten to tighten it up off the lift. oops.

Thanks to EatRideSleep below...

So snowboardgirl, I think the fastest and best way to get you set up properly is to take your board and boots to your local snowboard and/or ski shop.

If you have the small size, they can be adjusted to fit your boots perfectly.

If that isn't an option, call us and ask for "rider services". 206.632.1601
