Binding vs board

There are a lot of questions regarding board / binding combo.

What aspects do you all look at when pairing your board to your bindings.

Looking to get an arbor westmark, and want to know if my current union asadachis will be a good match to the board.

I actually have one binding model that I try to use on all my boards. Makes switching between them all comfortable, the only difference in the setup is the board!

I prefer stiff, responsive boots and bindings, matched with medium stiff, to super stiff boards (depending on the use)... But that's just me! :dizzy:

Soft board, soft bindings, soft boots for me.

Stiff bindings on a soft board might make it flex all weird; soft bindings on a stiff board will not give you enough feedback/control. I'm not a pro at this, but it looks like your combo would work just fine.

This is mostly preference, with the caveat that the extreme matches are just that, extreme, so you would probably want to have good reason to do so.

e.g you like to charge your stiff custom x but also like to do lots of tricks with it so you want the flexibility of a softer binding and/or boot for spinning and buttering - I have a friend with this riding style, he rides pretty stiff bindings but a softer boot

or you do massive airs on a soft board and want supportive boots/bindings for the landings - just a theory, no practical experience with this

other than that it's about what you like, some of the stiffer bindings aren't as comfortable and might be tiring for example
