Ordered a pair of fuse-se from wiredsports as i have seen him on these forums helping people alot, and behold a pair of nx2-se show up instead. Super stoked on the upgrade but i was getting the fuses cus theyre a little softer and theyre going on a park pickle 159 and i ride 70% park jibbing and what not, do you think ill have any issues with the nx2 in this situation(7 vs 5 flex rating). Im intermediate - advanced rider 6'1" 175 size 10 boot. ty for the input, and wired if your watching, your teh best =)

I had NXT-AT bindings before and I switched to cartels, but I'll get to that in a second; They will soften up as you use them, plus the fact that they are more expensive and you didn't pay full price for them is enticing. Screw them to your board, adjust them to your boots and test it on the living room floor. Worst case scenario, if they are too stiff then you just take them off and send them back. If they are perfect, then you got a nice discount!

That being said about the bindings, I've been riding flows for 3 seasons and my dad has ridden them for almost 20 years. We both switched to two strap bindings (Him Ride Capos - Me Burton Cartels) and there is no comparison. He agrees with me that the two strap bindings are significantly more comfortable then flows. Also, when you go up on an edge there is more clearance between your board and the snow, so tighter turns with less effort and less chance of catching an edge and dislocating your shoulder or hurting your back like I did. Unless you have a handicap and can't use two straps, I would trade in your flows and go traditional. Two straps are cheaper, less of a pain to adjust, easier to replace parts with, and in my opinion more comfortable. My father and I have been big Flow binding advocates for several years, but neither one of us want to go back now. Technology has significantly evolved since snowboarding started and two strap bindings are phenomenally better!

I have a pair of k2 formulas and i agree on your assessment of flow bindings pre 2014 but, the nx2-se have a hybrid strap + toe strap and full size ratchets for traditional use if i wanted, but the big one is the NASTY bit that solves the main prob i had with them. I've never run this responsive a binding before, i believe the formulas are a soft 5 at best, so i was wondering how it would impact my riding. Id go test them myself but there's definitely no more snow in SoCal.

I've been researching for a couple months on Flow's and the only thing I can come up with is people either love them or hate them. The only way I'm gonna figure it out is rocking them for a season or half a season. I've ridden conventional bindings since I started but I'd love to come off the lift, kick my foot in and lock it without stopping. I just ordered the Flow Fuse SE to throw on a park board for next year to try it out. If they work out I'll consider getting a set for my free ride set up but I'm not expecting that.

I was set on the Flow the Five binding until I read about how much of an upgrade the NASTY system is.

Back on topic though I'd probably stick with the softer Fuses over the NX2 se. Ya the upgrade is nice but the Fuse is what you need and it still has the NASTY set up.

emc19,sorry that i do not have a pick of my setup cuz i do not know how to post a pic to this forum. I have been riding my Fuse-AT since i got it and very happy with them. One thing that i mentioned before is that i hope your boot is not too wide because it will grab it if you try to enter at a low angle. I have to enter from the top and it works well for me. A short story from last weekend, i rode with my wifes' co-worker's husband(skier) and the first few times we get off the lift and skate away from the crowd he always ask me if i was ready:giggle: he didn't realize that I was waiting for him:laugh:
