so i just picked up a capita charlie slasher for cheap (which i'm pretty stoked about) and now i'm wondering what kind of bindings i'd want to use on it. currently i own two sets of bindings, flux ds and some ethan morgan switchbacks. not sure how these will end up pairing with the charlie slasher. my initial thought is that the flux bindings might be too soft? but i don't know. looking forward to giving the switchbacks (using the no-back option) a shot in the pow but i haven't actually gone no-backs yet so not sure how well that will work either.
obviously i'm gonna some setups out and see how they feel but was just curious if anyone else out there has any preliminary thoughts or ideas. thanks!
I'm not familiar with the Switchbacks, but the Flux DS is definitely too soft. I have a Charlie Slasher and I like a medium to mid-stiff binding on it. Stiff would work too, I just personally don't really care for stiff bindings in general.
yeah...kind of figured that might be the case. when i bought the ds i thought i was getting more of an all mountain binding. i like em but they turned out to be softer than i thought they'd be...
100% preference.
some people really like soft bindings in pow for a more surfy feel, others prefer something stiffer for faster response.
running no-back style will be about as loose and surfy as you can get.
Contact Pros are a good in between, loose/surfy under foot with all that padding, but still responsive.
