Recently bought bindings for board, they feel too stiff?
So I bought A never summer evo at the end of the season, and saw some Contact Pro's on sale, I bought them and decided that it would be a great park setup. When I went riding the board felt really playful and flexful, but the bindings where very responsive and threw me off a couple of times. Can a binding be too stiff for a board? Should I wait awile and break them in?

How do you know its not the board? ride it for a while and let the foam compressed a little bit.

Bindings can absolutely be too stiff for a board. Personally, I'd rather err on the side of a little too soft rather than too stiff when it comes to bindings. Then again, I prefer stiff boots, so I think that plays into things for me. Pair stiff boots and bindings on a board like an Evo and that thing gets mighty twitchy. I don't think the Contact Pros would be stiff enough to cause an issue though.

Why would your bindings throw you off? Were you being mean to them?

What other advice can you get?

Yes, you can get bindings that are too stiff for your board. If that's what you think you've done, sell them and get softer bindings. A lot of it comes down to personal preference. What's too stiff for one may be just right for another.

If they're too stiff, and your not happy, sell 'em and get a pair of NOW Selects with the low backs. Or get a park binding. If you want to keep them, keep them and keep riding with them. Contact Pro is not going to be too stiff. Nobody can read your mind and tell you what you want to hear.
