A couple of questions

Hey guys !

So I am pretty new with the technical part of snowboards and I was wondering, if the bindings say they are 4x4, will they fit on 2x4? Cause the only difference between 4x4 and 2x4 is the 2cm or 4cm spacing.

And what if my boot size is 11.5 and bindings are L (8-11) XL (11-15), should I be getting L or XL? I am buying them online so there is pretty much no way to try them on.

4X4 will fit on 2x4, 2x4 boards has more holes compared to 4x4, and stance adjustability is more sensitive, if you can say that. You can push binding by 2cm minimum and 4x4 minimum is 4cm.

Look at manufacturers info about which size boots L or XL bindings can accomodate and have in mind if your boots has some kind of reduced footprint tech, which basicaly means that a boot of size 11 will be even smaller than size 10 boot without reduced footprint

If there is no other way, get the L pair first and check, if the boots fit (no prob if you need to sweeze a tad to get the boot into the heelcup, no prob if there's a bit of toe overhang, as long as your foot ball is positioned nicely on the gas pedal) If not, you still can get the XL.
I'm between the M/L sizes and rather go gor a binding on the smaller side than too big (you loose leverage if they're too big and it's likely that you side slip cos they'll be wider).

I really thought quicksand was going to be a much bigger issue in my life when I was little

dice roll, many sizes have no variables to consider, 11-11.5 have at least 3, so buying them without knowing what works best is just that.

Without being able to physically check the boot binding combo, it really can be a bit of a crap shoot. Different brands of boots can vary quite a bit in their outer dimensions even tho they are the same sizing for your feet.

For example, I bought a pair of Salomon factions to replace my 32's. both in 10.5, but the factions have an almost 2 full inches longer outer profile than my 32's! I had to re-adjust all my binder straps to get them to fit. (...they didn't fit well at all with my M Cartels. ( which my 10.5 - 32's did!) They only fit well with my L binders. (...my 32's worked ok with the L bindings too btw!)

If there really is just no way for you to check it first, My advice is carefully check the return policy before you buy and take your best guess. If they don't work? Return/exchange them for the ones that will!
