Hi all,

Long term reader, first time poster so go easy on me...

Currently using a pair of 2012 Flow M9-SE. While I generally like them, I am a bit over the whole quick rear entry thing and want to go back to regular strap in bindings.

Anyway, im a bit of a light weight, approx 68kg/150lbs. So I generally ride a softer board and softer bindings. Will be used for all mountain, actually, will probably only see a small amount of park use. If I hit any jumps going down the hill it wouldnt be anything to aggressive. Going Japan end of this year also so assuming they have a good season, should be plenty of powder.

Thinking the following: Burton Cartel/Malavita/Genesis, Salomon Hologram, Now IPO, Flux DS.

Any thoughts on the above or any other recommendations?

Theaks heaps in advance.

good choices all. just keep in mind that the hologram and NOW are gonna introduce some alternative tech, while the burtons and fluxs are going to really be traditional. There is a little wiggle room in what I'm saying, the burtons try to achieve flex through their re:flex system, the salomons through newer tech that I like the idea of very much, and then the NOWs with the whole bushing system.

fwiw, i like my vitas alot.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those choices.

I have the cartel, malavita, and the genesis. Currently my favorite is the Genesis because of the straps, those things are very comfortable. By no means are the straps on the vita and cartel not comfortable its just the genesis are a bit more.

You would probably be happy with any choice you made.

I currently ride Malavitas and I love them, also a big fan of Rome 390s for a softer all mountain binding.

As opposed to the Cartel you might want to look into the Missions, they are pretty similar performance-wise, a little softer and you'll save a few bucks.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I thought I might get answers like that! :p I did a bit of reading on these forums and the bindings I listed seemed to get a pretty good wrap all round. I just couldnt decide on which ones. Are the Malavitas or Cartels softer? Burton site says Vitas are but couple posts on here say otherwise?

I did actually order some Now IPOs from Amazon for $105. I figure if I dont like em I could sell them here easily. They're almost $400 here in Australia.

Does any of them stand out in terms of comfort? Especially around ankles?

I've read a few people have had issues with the Genesis straps. Probably just a couple isolated events I guess?

The ankle straps on the genesis are pretty comfortable just a tad bit more than the cartels or vitas. The toe straps are the same, just as nice.

I've never had any issues with the straps coming off or getting loose on any of my bindings including the genesis. The great thing about the genesis ankle straps is that it folds away so it makes it a little easier to get your foot in. Not much but just a little bit.

For next year i do believe the vitas will have the new ladders and new buckles just like the current genesis.
