Flow M7-First day out.
I've been using the Cartels these last 2 seasons, and I love them, I never sit down to do them up and they are quick to get in and out of..that being said, I found a pair of Flow M7 on ebay for 109 bones...couldn't pass them up. I took them out for the first time today rode in them for 8 hours straight.
The good: It was still quicker to get into these then the cartels, and I recommend flows to anyone that wants to get into the bindings quick and go.
The bad: I had an issue with unstrapping while still moving. That was quicker with my cartels. It seemed like if I unstrap while moving the latch part that clicks into place drags in the snow and there is a very good chance its gonna get broken off. With my cartels I usually unstrapped and just took my foot out when I got to the lift line, and never had to worry about anything breaking off If I stepped out of them.
The Feel: Right away when I took my first run I noticed that they were not even close as responsive as my cartels..but after adjusting the forward lean to more aggressive, it drove my foot into the binding more and it felt much better. I couldnt tighten the straps on it anymore because then I couldnt get my boot in and out. So the forward lean was the answer on that one.
I would definately recommend them to anyone wanting a quick get in binding without having to sit. Only time will tell if they can take the abuse that my cartels have seen. I know these aren't the top of the line flows, but for that price I figured wtf.. mind as well try em.
While I use a different model, I love my Flows. At the end of the day, I figure I've ridden more and sat in the snow less - that's a good thing.
I also like the support the bindings give. I may not ride well, but I have some epic falls and no injuries to my ankles to report.
