DIY Binding cant

I was intrigued by Ride's wedgie canted footbed technology, but I didn't want to give up my existing bindings (Flow nxt AT) since I am a cheap bastard. So I rigged up a ghetto way to cant bindings.

I bought these little shims from the hardware store http://www.lowes.com/pd_247891-143-PP836-55L_0_?productId=3133327&Ntt=shims&Ntk=i_products& pl=1&currentURL=/pl__0__s?newSearch=true$Ntt=shims$y=0$x=0

Just put a few of them on under the lateral (outside) part of the bindings to create a cant angle. Because the mounting disc will be uneven, make sure to get longer mounting screws to secure the binding to the board. Loctite or clear nail polish to keep in place. Remember, this mod is creating a cant angle for the entire binding (like alpine bindings) and not just the foot bed like the Ride Wedgies.

I rode a day of hard riding, and the thing is holding up. I was concerned the unleveled binding plate would be not secure but it is holding up. Be sure to use longer mounting screws. I definitely notice an improvement in leg fatigue from the canting.

I will post pics if anyone is interested.

Lol sounds pretty ghetto to me. How come you decided to cant the whole binding rather than simply cutting some stuff to fit on the base plate to achieve the cant angle?

That's what I thought the OP did at first until I read his/her post. Although I'd like to see pics as well.

I'm in for pics too. I can kind of imagine what you did, but want to see it for myself. How many of those nylon shims did you use? Just from the home depot picture, they don't look very steep so I can't imagine that just one would give you much of an angle.

I can imagine the mod, but I would never cant the entire binding, just the footbed. As I said earlier, I'm in for pics though.
