I am considering Rome Targa bindings, while I decide on a new board. I am considering the 161 Lib-tech Dark Series C2 BTX, the 161.5 Lib-Tech T.Rice C2 BTX (if I can even find one), and the Never Summer Heritage-R. I would like to know if the Targa are the right bindings for these boards and my riding style. I am also welcoming all suggestions of bindings comparable to the Targa.
I enjoy riding with speed and aggression, but still like to be playful, capable of switch riding (probably a twin directional) and backcountry kickers. And, every now then I like to slow it down to look around and say, "Wow, that's nice." Or, I'll hike to find a better view. I rarely enter the park, and when I do I only hit a few jumps and box rails. I mostly stick to shredding black/double-black terrain, mog runs, tree explorations, and backcountry. I live in the Northeast, and make the occasional trip to the Rockies. |

i don't think you'd have a problem with the targas...
i rid 08 Targas on my 2010 NS Premier F1-R and I rode the Targas all of last season on my 08 Nitro Eero Ettala.

Thanks blue. By the way, I had an interest in the Never Summer Premier 09/10, but am considering the Heritage. Not to kind of throw this thread off track, but how does the board feel? Is it pretty straight forward or can it handle switch and play a little?

I'm also thinking about picking up a pair of Targas this year. The white colorway matches my new board and from what I've read, the Targa is a pretty solid binding that will give me the ability to rip high-speed carves, but also dial down a little bit if I want to session the park for a few hours.
Similar riding style as billygold18 above. Interestingly enough, the Lib T.Rice is on my list of boards I'd like to demo in the future...

Dave: Is your new board a Bataleon by chance? I've pasted a link with pics of next year's T. Rice. The graphics look illlll.

nope, new board is the Ride Machete. Colors on the Targa match the 61W pretty close.
I also want to get a Capita Black Death to replace my Legacy which is getting pretty old... Next year's graphics is just a black board with a bigass skull on it. Nice & clean.

I still ride the 07/08 targa, too - keepers (but I've only owned salomon to really compare).
Owned the 08/09 targas for a short time, but had a hell of a time with the forward lean adjusters...then the highback broke. 09/10 feel just a rickety, so, if I was in the market for bindings, I'd probably look for another brand. ymmv |

Thanks for asking the question. I just spent my first season on the 157 TRice C2BTX and it was AWESOME! Now to replace the 4 year old Ride LX bindings I was using on it :-D Looks like I'll go with the targas.

I can't wait for the 2011 T.Rice...I will be getting a pointy tip this time around and putting my Targas on that while moving the 390s from my wife's GNU to the 2010 blunt T.Rice I have now. I grabbed her a set of Flows for the GNU because she made a comment about finding a way to strap in easier.
