Default bindings quality

So, Im relatively new to snowboarding and now I am working on purchasing my own equipment. After searching many pages I came across Rossignol Cobra V2 2009 at snowboards.net for $79 (from $155)....
Searching the first 15 pages here in the bindings section I do not see anyone talk about Rossignol at all!!!! I see a lot of Burton, Rome, etc but no Rossignol... Are they that bad that no one uses them??? Thanks!

BTW, Im looking at these bindings for my recently purchased Rome Graft 2009 board... I would like to get into the park a bit... although I usually spend more than 50% free-riding... Is this a bad board/binding combination?

I wouldnt ride a rossignal binding...I'm sure they're ok but who knows! Do you really want to take the risk of getting something you know nothing about just to save some extra $$ ? Spend a little more and get some Unions.

those look really cheap...especially for their middle of the line binding.

Rossi's high end bindings actually look good with all the newest features/tech, but I wouldn't touch anything below that in their line.

What about these Solomon code? Has anyone had any experience with these? They claim to be flex 4, would they be a good match for my flexible Rome Graft board, to use in the park?

the codes look pretty bad, too...but at least you get a cap toe strap :P

Seriously, if you can wait a few weeks, everything is going to start going on sale BIG TIME. You'll be able to get high end bindings for close to the price you're about to put down on garbage.

If you can't wait, I recommend bidding onthese rome 390 on ebay. They're 07, but the design hasn't changed and the plastic on the older ones won't break on you like the new ones.

Thanks, you were right!
I went to a local store to check these mentioned above and they seem bad. So, after some research in this forum I got the Ride EX 2010. They have them for $112 on Sierra but my local store gave me a price match plus an additional 15% on the difference. I got them for $104.
I like them, thanks to you I made a good choice (now dont tell me that you think the EX suck too!!! haha, Im keeping them!)

well, I made an effort. Comparing just the ratchets, flads, heel hoop and ankle padding, the 2007 390s are more solid than the EX ...but they're a size small/med, so that might have ruled them out

What you did get is better than what you were going to get. Aluminum heel hoop + toe-cap straps = good ...so are wedgies :P
