Ride Rx vs. Flux Super Titans
which do you prefer and why?
|
The rides are a good all mountain binding for the price. The convertable toe strap likes to slip off your toe sometimes, but other than that i have no complaints. I have heard good things about the Flux toe caps.
|
well what are the best and cheapest ride bindings???
|
The Ride RX are really solid bindings with a all mountain flex. They have an all aluminium base so they will be a bit on the stiffer side. They are also not the lightest bindings because of that. Durability wise they are great.

I'll take Flux all day everyday over Ride. I don't like Ride's aluminum baseplates. I think it translates a lot of chatter up through the board that a lot of other bindings will soak up. I also prefer a softer binding in general. As far as durability goes, again I don't like Ride's aluminum baseplates. They don't flex, they bend. I warped the shit out of the baseplates on my SPi's.
Take that for what it's worth coming from admitted Flux lover and Ride hater. |
I agreed. But if you are on a budget Flux may be out of your price range, unless you find them on clearance. My next purchase is probably going to be some Flux Super Titans.

2010 ride ex if you want something more freestyle-oriented year-to-year feature creep has brought both those bindings high-end parts for low-end prices |

As far as these two specifically, I've owned a bunch of Ride bindings over the years, even recently, and they make great stuff. That said, I preferred Rome for aluminum baseplates, and these days am loving Flux. I got 2 pairs of them last year, and am hoping to try their newly redesigned ones this year too. |
my first binding were a pair of 2009 Flux Super Titans, and used them earlier this year through the european alps. So I guess I can't really compare them to anything, but I can definately say they they were the heaviest from the guys in my group, who had various Burton bindings. The highback was so beneficial in the deeper powder, felt so controlled even when I was waist deep. It was totally shithouse when it came to park jumps (no rails).
