Binding for F20s

I have the 11-11.5 (29cm) F20s, and I'm wondering if they will work with a L size Ride NRC binding. Does anyone have experience with this combo? I know that size boot is probably right on the edge of what is possible with a large size binding. Also, it seems that the highback has too much forward lean for the boot to set back as deep in to the binding as it should. Any ideas?

Also, I think I recall seeing a video (on Ride's website???) some time back showing how to setup the NRC binding. Does anyone know where I can find such a video now? I know the back half of the binding can be moved fore and aft among the 3 hole positions, but can the highback also be adjusted fore and aft independently?

Thanks

I don't know about the NRCs specifically, but I'm pairing 2009-10 F20s in the exact same size as yours with XL Ride SPi's. I haven't ridden this combination yet, but I've set up the bindings and everything seems shipshape. There's a little gap along the sides, but I expected that, since the width is not adjustable.

Previously, I used 11.5 Salomon Dialogues with L SPi's. I got the boots to fit by pulling out the heel cup and the toe ramp on the SPI's as far as they would go, but the arrangement still seemed a little tight to me. I didn't really think the toe strap would work well as a cap strap, whereas with the F20/XL combo it fits perfectly as a cap strap. Now, the F20s are just a little less bulky than the Dialogues were, so I think you should be able to fit into the L NRCs if you make the same adjustments I made. However, you may have to live with a less than ideal fit in the back if your heel cup is pulled all the way out and the highback is raised as straight as possible. I simply decided that I would prefer bindings that were at the lower size limit rather than the upper size limit for my boots.

The f20s are small boots. My friends 29.5 f20s are the same size outside size as my 28.5 Ride Anthem boots. In fact he was able to strap into my Medium Contrabands. You will probaly be able to get a real nice fit with the medium NRC's. I can't say for sure since I haven't tried it.

You should be ok since the F boots are basically the smallest profile and footprint out there.

16 Capita BSOD . 16 NS West . 15 NS Snowtrooper BIA . 13 Salomon Pow Snake
15 Now Drive . 14 Burton Genesis
14 Flow Hylite

"Medium" NRCs were designed to fit sizes 5-8 (same as SPi's)! You'd never fit an 11/11.5 F20 into that. A Large (8-11) binding probably, with some adjustments and perhaps compromises, as I indicated. Btw, the Contraband sizes are different from the NRC/SPi sizes.

i've got my 10.5 (28.5) F24's in last years NRc size L. It works fine for me. I have the heelcup adjused as far back as it will go and the toe overhang on the footbed is minimal. The only issue with the NRc's is that they don't have an extendable gas pedal, the footbed is a fixed length. That being said, you can adjust where the footbed is in relation to the heel cup. The screw that holds down the back of the footbed is in a tab that is slotted. This allows for approx 1/4" of play front to back. If you're only up to a 29 I don't suspect there will be an issue with the L size binder.

My bad. I looked for a size chart for the NRC's but could find one and assumed it was the same.
