Bindings on a Ride Society - Snowboarding Forum

Sorry for all these posts. Tonight is my last day to choose a binding, seeing as tomorrow I have to return a pair. I have the Rome 390s and Ride Contrabands. I usually just ride the whole mountain, while going into the terrain park occasionally. This year I will also be involved in snowboard races. I know that a stiffer binding would be more beneficial for my riding styles, but how would these two bindings compare. Lots of people have said to go for the 390s, where as some have said the contrabands. I have a 32 lashed boot. My boots are black and purple. The contrabands are black. Color wise, they match up. My board is gray, so they stand out. The 390s are white/black mix. Theoretically, contrabands seem more convenient to strap into, since they only have one strap. I find that not to be true. They fold inward, so I have to pull the strap out of the way. The 390s have the ankle strap out of the way for you. The only thing that worries me is that on the 390s, my boot seems to fit quite snug. It is a size 9-14, and my boot is a 10.5. On the other hand, the contrabands are a 9-11. I really apologize, but appreciate your time. Thank you guys

I prefer the 390's myself. I personally have two pair. Mine fit snug but the straps are so nice that I dont even notice. I have never felt that straping in my toe as well as my ankle is a very big deal.

390's on a Society. Though if you can get your hands on Alphas do that.

I checked the stiffness of both bindings. Contrabands are a 5 out of ten, 390s are on the middle of their chart, therefore 5 out of 10. Both medium flex. How stiff would you say the 390s are. Would they suit my freeride/park/downhill racing needs?

They are not both a 5/10. Contras probably are, but on the ride scale I would put the Boss at like a 6 or 7. I still say try to find some Alphas.
