ive had 2 sets of ride bindings are they were both really nice. i still have my ride beta MVMNT but i just got some union contacts from a couple of years ago. iead they are about perfect on my sierrascope so i wanted to give them try/ the unions are definitely lighher than the rides but the straps on the rides are tits. i havent got to try the contacts yet so i dont know what im gonna end up liking better.

if money was not a factor i would get rome 390 boss. my buddy got some targas last year and they are super nice. everything about em seemed super high quality. i wouldnt mess with burton bindings unless i was getting top of the line for an extreme discount.

This year's Ride Deltas are pretty damn sweet. I was looking at them as my all mountain binding, but decided that the highback was a little too soft for my liking. They're pretty similar to the Cartels, but a tad softer. I've ridden a pair of Cartels the past three seasons and have enjoyed them, great all around binding except I've had a few issues with the ratchets last year. I'd take the Deltas over the Cartels though. Another binding I'd look at is this year's "it" binding, the Rome 390 boss. They have canted footbeds like the Deltas (if that's a selling point for you). I ended up choosing the Targas over the 390s because of the stiffer highback and customizable straps.

a lot of people really dig the Burton Cartels but the highback takes some getting used to. It's really high. The binding is pretty stiff to, even though a lot of people use them for park/freestyle. IMO it's a great all-mountain binder, I don't love them in the park but they're really responsive on groomers, glades, etc.
I think they may make a cartel with a lower highback this season but you'll pay full retail for it. |
