Im buyin a new board as soon as boards go on discount for the end of the season. However i need to buy a pair of bindings ASAP. went to local shop but their kinda overpriced. Ive been looking on the house a lot. I dont want to spend over $175 and ultimately these will be used on a K2 Darkstar for the park. Here are the ones i've been looking at. Because im waiting to buy the board the bindings i'm willing to spend a little more on. I have $250 right now but would love to have say 100-75 to get the money started for the snowboard.

Flow Flite 4
K2 Auto
K2 Formula
Ride Contraband
Ride Delta Movement
Ride EX
Ride Spi
Rome Arsenal
Rome S90
Union Contact
Union DLX
Union FLite

Thanks, really need the help.

the s90 is basically the 390(I think?) and if you can get it for around 100 i would definitely pick it up. Other than that i've hear some good thing about the Spi, contraband and anything made by union is usually decent quality.

My next bindings will most likely be the Ride Delta Movements.

Just sold my Union force because I always found myself on my Ride NRc.

The Ride footbeds and toe straps are unmatched as far as I'm concerned.....

I own the new Flites and they are a great binding IMO. Easy to get in and out of and very versatile. I have a small review of them that I put up a while ago. Here ya go -- http://www.snowboardingforum.com/bindings/31782-how-lite-2.html . If you have any questions feel free to ask. I will answer to the best of my ability.

great review! I have it narrowed down to k2 auto, ride ex, ride delta movements, ride spi, and union flites. I've heard that the rides have their toe strap and footpad pretty well perfected. I like the k2'2 in the sense that its almost as quick as flows but gives you added control. I feel like the Ride Ex are just standard ride product with a good feel. Same with Delta movements. And the unions seem like just nice overall bindings. As of now i'm leaning towards te k2's and the union flites. eventually i'll probably buy both but i dont know which one to start out getting.

I can tell you to take the SPi's off of your list if you want a freestyle binding. They are a binding that is meant for hard charging big lines, not jumping and sliding in the park. I've heard good about the Autos for an all purpose binding, and you've read my take on the Flites. :)

yeah i think the autos will suit my needs the best. because i'm buying a new board at the end of the season and until then the board im using is not necesarrily a park board. Its a pretty old board but it holds an edge well so i dont really have any complaints except how stiff it is. But after that i'm buying the board and I will put the bindings on it and buy an all mountain pair for the board i'm gonna use this season.

Also the board that i plan on getting is a K2 Darkstar in 157 wide. Would you say this is a good choice for a good quality park board. I mean i guess i could go out and buy a park banana but i figure the Darkstar should be just as good but for $170 cheaper. Another option is the forum youngblood or K2 Parkstar. I've decided i dont want a burton just because they seem to just be the standard and i think they overcharge as does GNU and LIB Tech. Overall of the boards i like, i think i like the darkstar's graphics the most and its one of the more inexpensive ones.

Im 6' 3" and 135lbs will the darkstar fit me alright? I know in the park size is a preferance but i dont want to be riding around on a board thats a way too tiny. On the slopes i usually ride a 162 so i figure a 157 (w) should work. If not I can get a different board in 159 (w).

Thanks

For the park, I wouldn't go bigger than the 157w, and even then that's a big board for your weight. Height is not your determining factor, weight is. You're the same size I am, only I'm about 50lbs heavier than you and I rode a 159w last year and have a 157 mid-wide this year. The reason I downsized is cause I won the board in a contest and it's a rocker board so I had to try it out. Turns out I love it though.:D

Shoot, that is a weird combo.

Huge feet on a tall pinner dude.

At 135# you are going to have a hard time flexing a board that size.

I'd also agree that a 157w is about the biggest board you should be on. Maybe hit the gym?

i'm only 15 so i got plenty of time to gain weight. and trust me i've tryed lifting weights for about 6 months. Nothing really happened. i mean i go plenty stronger but only gained a pound or two. My dad was the same way he gained weight in 10t grade im only in 9th so i'll worry about that later. Right now the only thing i wanna worry about is shreddin it up this season hahaha. i'll probably go with the 157 W so i can grow into it.
