My clips dont have the problem others have been saying... so do you take that rubber band slide it under the clip then loop it back through the clip and hook a slot on the post on thr clip?

Rubber band thingy?

Open the clamp. stretch the rubber band ladder thingy and hold the whole buckle that goes over your boot across the binding and the rubber band with one hand as if you where gonna strap in. The little ladder will lay over the nipple on the opened clamp. The nipple must poke through the holes (ladders) in the rubber band. Close the clamp and the rubber band srtetches a bit and then will be locked into place when the buckle is closed.

The youtube nipples song is playing in my head.

Are you talking about the bands opposite side of the rachet? They are there to keep your straps away from ur boot when u put them on. It also allows you to adjust the boot size without taking out the tools. Initially I didn't know what to do with them as well cuz I thought if I force the tab to lock, it was going to snap and then bye-bye 390s. But I doesn't and it's a pretty good addition. I double check those between every run cuz the toe strap ones came loose when I was riding switch. But it might be my fault I didn't check it after 5 plus runs. Other than the possible rachet problem, these bindings are great
