Hello guys, I'm trying to adjust my bindings but I'm not sure how to. I'm still a beginner and just not sure what I'm doing most of the time. How do I center my bindings on the board? Should I consider the boot when it's strapped on and center it that way? Do I base it on the front and end of my baseplate? Should I also consider the length adjustable foot tray and/or hell cup to the overall length?
Cheers! |

Yeah center the boot, do up the laces tight and put them in the bindings and look at it from the tip and tail of the board to center it.
Stance is up to you but should be around shoulder width apart and the angles again are up to you but I find a duck stance the most comfortable. Keep in mind a wider stance means more stability but harder to turn and a closer stance will be easier to turn but not as stable, it a balancing act. Basically I stand on the board with my socks in a natural stance, just what feels comfortable and try to mimic that with the bindings. I start at something like 12 -12 and make adjustments to taste if I feel uncomfortable. May take a few runs and on hill adjustments to get it dialed. Just consciously think of your feet and if they should be rotated or moved. Center the bindings equally if you ride more groomers and park, set it back a bit if you ride powder more. Of course if your board is a freeride board it might be set back a little when it is centered according to the inserts. Stance width is measured from the center of one binding to the other. Dont worry about the heelcup, just make sure the baseplate is not overhanging. Last edited by freshy; 12-23-2010 at 02:23 PM. |
