So I ordered a set of Rome Targa's in the Acid Green color. I did everything ass backwards and bought my bindings before my board but I'm a size 13 boot so I figured regardless I'd be riding a large setup. My bindings didn't match my board at all so I decided to exchange them for the white ones. I couldn't care less about aesthetics but since I've got a month before I could hit the mountain I figured why not. I received the white replacements and bummer, they were used. The heel strap supports were removed and there was a little dirt on them. Besides that they're in perfect condition but I'm still bummed. So I call up dogfunk/backcountry and end up talking to Shane. He was super apologetic and put me on hold to discuss with his manager. His manager told him to offer me 75% off the bindings or 15% off another pair. He asked if they could offer both and his manager agreed. Holy crap either one of those would be a killer deal but both of them is insane! We discussed my options and eventually settled on keeping the Targa's and getting a set of Black Ride SPI's. So in the end it cost me an entire $8 for a 2nd set of bindings. He also gave me a discount on a jacket which is the last piece of gear I need. I got a 686 Command in gunmetal.
So I've got a K2 Raygun 160W and 2 sets of bindings, the Ride SPI's that are on their way and the Targa's. So which bindings would you mount to the Raygun and what would you do with the other pair? Would you sell them or would you get another board and have a 2nd setup? This will be the first time I've ridden in 10+ years and I'm not sure how many days I'll be getting in. |

The Targa and SPI are in the same category of bindings. They are both stiff freeride bindings and both have adjustable flex ankle straps.
If you have the 2011 Targas, they have the Yes I Cant system which I highly favor for even more customization options. For this reason, I'd put Targas on there. In the end, both are basically geared towards the same exact riding style. Either will work. |
