So after doing a bunch of research and talking to a lot of shops related to equipment, I've realized most of the time theres always pros and cons to each company's product. Some ppl get a product and love everything about...and thats wicked. However, a lot get the best product at their budget and compromise on some things. They'll get the product that lacks features they can live without/dont need or get something because they absolutely must have that one feature. Some get products and down the road realize there is design flaw or defect. So i'm just throwing this question out to this community based on their preferences and experiences. If you could build and combine all the parts from various companies to create the ultimate binding what would it look like? Note: I'm not trying to proof/disproof the best products...just want to see what ppls unique preferences are.
Mine:
Baseplate - Rome Targas (for adjustability), Union Force SLs for durability
Highback - 2011 cartel highback (old P1)
Rachets - K2 litespeed rachets
Heel strap - Rome Targas
Toe strap - Ride's thin grip toe strap
Footbed - Ride's wedgie foodbed
Toe strap: Ride 3D ThinGrip - this is by far my favorite toe strap
Ratchets: Burton
Footbed: Rome's Yes I Cant
Quick Entry:
I love everything about the NXT-FSE bindings, but would make some improvements. I would somehow like to incorporate a ThinGrip type toe strap into Flow's cap design. They should maybe make a webbing to connect the ankle to the toe strap.
I've been trying to figure out a way to combine normal baseplate/highbacks with Flow straps with Roces inline skate memory buckles. 390 Boss base and highback would be ideal. It should produce something that is fast in, consistant clamping, tight clamping and super comfortable.
Im gonna say that the 390 boss comes pretty dang close to hitting the nail on the head. Maybe with a burton Triad highback for a little extra forward lean and a Triad cap strap but with rome's tool-free adjustment.
Chassis: Union Contact
Highback: Flux SR15
Ankle Strap: Rome 390s with the rubber thing that moves the straps out of the way
Toe Strap: Flux toe mask
Ratchets: Flux
Footbed: Ride Wedgies
Chassis: Rome 390
Highback: hurrithanes/ 390 boss
Ankle strap: 390 boss/ contraband
Toe strap: Ride 3D ThinGrip/contrabnd
Footbed: Ride Wedgies
i love the contrabands b/c theyre mad light and getting in and out is a breeze. The bosses are also pretty sick. If i could get the chassis of the bosses with the contraband strap and the rubber band thing that keeps the strap out the of the way, thatd be awesome.
