So I just ordered a new banana magic for a sweet deal, and I can't decide which bindings to throw on it. It'll be an all mountain stick with a decent bit of freeride going on, a little freestyle and perhaps some park play once in a while. I'm still learning after all, only reason for the advanced stick was the price it was going for.
So last time I checked I was rockin an 8.5, but I still need to pick up some boots so it may change depending on the boot I guess. Anyways, have been checking out quite a few bindings. Rome Targas, Rome Arsenals, Ride SPi, Ride Alpha mvmnt, Ride nitrane contraband, Union force, flow nxt line, gnu mutant, and Forum Republics. As I will probably be doing more carving than doing advanced tricks and whatnot for a bit, I figured the medium-stiff or stiff bindings were the way to go? Any advice is appreciated. |

I have Ride Nrc's on my banana magic- they compliment the board really well- not too soft, not too stiff, plenty of adjustability, incuding canting. Unfortunately, the board's durability/ construction is a whole other issue- after riding whistler last month a solid 3 inch section of my sidewall has begun to completely delaminate- still waiting to hear back from their warranty dept. Have less than 20 days on the board....

Well I think I've narrowed it down to 3 bindings, Ride Double Agent, Rome Targa, and Forum Republics. I think they will match the stiffness of the board and my riding style pretty well. It seems you can find a binding that will do anything you want for 200-300 bucks for the most part, my main concern outside of that is comfort and that's what these three seem to excell at in their reviews plus adjustability (esp the agent and targa with the inserts). I'm really liking the adjustability of the targa and comfort ratings... but the double agent is right there with it. The forums look good on paper but can't find many reviews of them out there.
So, if anyone could shed some light and help me out I'd appreciate it very much, thanks guys/gals. |
