How long have you been snowboarding? 7 years
Do you sit down or stand up to strap in? stand up How much time do you spend strapping in? 10 seconds Do you have difficulty strapping in? not typically What types of bindings do you have? Ride Contrabands, Rome 390s, Technine Team Pro What features do you like about the snowboard binding? Plush ankle strap, impact padding and canted foot bed, solid ratchets that hold without slipping but come off smooth and quick, and the high-back hook. What features do you dislike about the snowboard binding? if the ratchet doesn't come off smooth such that I can't take it off while I'm riding back to the lift line What do you believe would help with this problem? Better angle on the strap and more leverage on the ratchets..some companies have already figured it out and have it pretty perfect (Rome 390's) How many bindings have you owned? 5 Have you broken any bindings? If so how? None Would it be a problem if you need a special type of boot for the binding? It would be a problem unless different brands made that special type of boot with different flex patterns just as any other boot Would you like bindings with a hands free entrance system? If done properly without compromising performance |

How long have you been snowboarding? 4 years
Do you sit down or stand up to strap in? stand up How much time do you spend strapping in? 10 seconds Do you have difficulty strapping in? nope What types of bindings do you have? All standard strap in, (Ride NrC, Rome 390 Boss, Rome Targa, Ride SPi) What features do you like about the snowboard binding? it is simple What features do you dislike about the snowboard binding? every once in a while ratchets stick, hardwear has the potential to come loose What do you believe would help with this problem? it is a piece of equipment that takes a lot of abuse. For what they are, current quality bindings function great How many bindings have you owned? 6 Have you broken any bindings? If so how? None Would it be a problem if you need a special type of boot for the binding? see post above Would you like bindings with a hands free entrance system? I don't wear a racing onsie so i'd still have to bend down to pull my pant leg up and over the highback. If I'm going have to do that either way, why not just strap in when i'm down there. What good will the 3 seconds saved of a hands free system be? It won't translate into more runs with that's for sure. Last edited by kingkoajmr; 02-26-2011 at 03:36 PM. |

How long have you been snowboarding? 10-12 yrs
Do you sit down or stand up to strap in? both. How much time do you spend strapping in? a few seconds Do you have difficulty strapping in? not really. some bindings are easier than others though. What types of bindings do you have? various burtons and some k2 What features do you like about the snowboard binding? simple design, few parts to break What features do you dislike about the snowboard binding? none What do you believe would help with this problem? n/a How many bindings have you owned? 5-6 Have you broken any bindings? If so how? noWould it be a problem if you need a special type of boot for the binding? yes if it varied from the boots I use now. I wouldn't buy a specific pair of boots just to ride with a specific set of bindings because I have a few board/binding setups and I like to wear the same boots with each set. Would you like bindings with a hands free entrance system? if it actually made entering and exiting the binding easier w/o compromising the function or simplicity i'd be interested in reading the reviews, etc that other post. I wouldn't buy anything that required more moving parts or parts that could break and be a pain to replace. |

How long have you been snowboarding? 3 seasons
Do you sit down or stand up to strap in? i sit on benches they have at my mtn (Bear), I would stand if i have to sit on snow How much time do you spend strapping in? 10-15 seconds Do you have difficulty strapping in? nope What types of bindings do you have? regular entry bindings (Union Contact SLs) What features do you like about the snowboard binding?it doesn't hurt my feet and has super smooth releasing ratchets What features do you dislike about the snowboard binding?the heel cup sometimes moves and so i have to keep tightening screws n stuff What do you believe would help with this problem? maybe some non union bindings, or Forces that have more screws for holding the heel cup in place. How many bindings have you owned? 3, Ride RXs (caused pain in my toes) Technine team pro i think (POS bindings) and Union Contacts Have you broken any bindings? If so how? One, the technines (the ratchets fell off the straps on both toe straps, I am too lazy to somehow put them back on, and i wouldn't trust ridding them again.) Would it be a problem if you need a special type of boot for the binding? not really, as long as a lot of companies make those kinds of boots so that people can find boots that are comforatble. (it took me at least 7+ hours at the shop trying to find the most comfy boot for me) Would you like bindings with a hands free entrance system? If they work properly, didn't requre Ski-like-boots, and have as few moving parts as possible, yes i would a hands free entrance system, o and it must not hurt my feet.

How long have you been snowboarding? 10 years on and off
Do you sit down or stand up to strap in? stand How much time do you spend strapping in? 15 seconds give or take Do you have difficulty strapping in? not really What types of bindings do you have? traditional strap in bindings, Ride Alpha and Rome 390 What features do you like about the snowboard binding? I like the comfort, security, and ease of adjustability What features do you dislike about the snowboard binding? The only real issues I have are with the 390's, there's a stupid piece of fabric right above the ratchets that sometimes causes trouble when trying to crank down on the bindings... it's actually really annoying. I don't have any real issues with the Alphas What do you believe would help with this problem? removing that tiny piece of fabric lol How many bindings have you owned? 4 over the years (the two i mentioned plus Flow NXT-AT's and some Liquid bindings from 2001) Have you broken any bindings? If so how? the only big issues i've had was with the Liquid bindings and the ratchets breaking but you really can't expect the best quality from budget bindings like those Would it be a problem if you need a special type of boot for the binding? Only if there was a small choice in boots and only one company offered them. what if there's fit issues, not all boots fit the same Would you like bindings with a hands free entrance system? you mean like the step in bindings from 10 years ago.. no i didn't like those. I'm not sure how else you'd create a hands free entrance system |

Forum Faction '06 What features do you like about the snowboard binding? Love the old style toe strap and the overall fit is perfect What features do you dislike about the snowboard binding? Their age? What do you believe would help with this problem? Getting new ones How many bindings have you owned? 3 pairs Have you broken any bindings? If so how? Have broken a couple of ladders Would it be a problem if you need a special type of boot for the binding? Yes, I am very picky when it comes to boots Would you like bindings with a hands free entrance system? I would consider it ONLY if cost, fit and quality is the same |

How long have you been snowboarding? 2 seasons seriously, ~5 seasons total
Do you sit down or stand up to strap in? Both, normally sit down How much time do you spend strapping in? Not much, ~10-20 seconds Do you have difficulty strapping in? None, unless I'm doing it wrong myself, haha What types of bindings do you have? Ride EX, K2 Auto Uprises What features do you like about the snowboard binding? The EX's haven't broke, the K2 Auto Uprises have the toe strap clamp down with the top strap. Both are very secure in regards to the feet What features do you dislike about the snowboard binding? Having some problems making sure the bindings are in securely with the board, but that might be my board What do you believe would help with this problem? New board. How many bindings have you owned? 3 Have you broken any bindings? If so how? Yes. Rome Uniteds. Cracked the side part and caused the binding itself to lift up off the board. They were recalled that year, but I was not informed unfortunately.Would it be a problem if you need a special type of boot for the binding? Definitely. I like my boots and the general design of the boots these days Would you like bindings with a hands free entrance system? Only if it didn't sacrifice everything good about normal bindings (safety, usability with normal boots, secureness |
