Default Rome Targa 2011 heel hoop dented/warped by airport baggage handlers!?!?

I just got home flying from a vacation out West. I just found out one of my Rome Targa bindings now has a deformed heel hoop...totally bent out of shape...looks flat instead of round. Needless to say the heel cup doesn't fit properly into the heel hoop now.

My bindings were attached to my snowboard, and the board was in a padded ski bag.

The heel hoops on the Targas are solid metal. How the heck does someone damage metal bindings like this? Did they drop it from some insane height? Do airlines reimburse for this type of damage?

Thanks

I don't know how this could've happened, but it'll be pretty tough for you to prove that the airline did this now that you've gotten the board home. Definitely file a grievance and see what comes out of it.

I'm shocked that that can happen to those bindings inside of a padded bag, the wankers! It's good to hear that at least one airline takes reponsibility for damaged luggage.

I'd like to see pics, too. You compress the metal enough, it should deform. Maybe it was caught in a hydraulic door or something that would compress it. Anyways, kudos to Southwest.

Wow, huge props to Southwest Airlines for handling that and making it easy.
