I got the 2011 Cartel Restricted bindings just over a month ago. After riding with them 5-6 times I've noticed that I get a lot of pain in my foot (the one which is most often in the back) near where the big toe and it's smaller neighbor connects to the rest of my foot. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
My best guess is that it's related to the sheer size of the Superstrap Air heel strap but I could be completely wrong. My guess is that when I am on my toe edge, which is most of the time, it pushes down into my foot where my arch is and this somehow screws with the balls of my foot. It could also be related to the lack of articulation in my 2010 Jeremy Jones boots I suppose though. I didn't have this problem with the crappy flows that I replaced, although I had all sorts of other pain in my upper ankle. I suppose this could just be the same problem manifesting itself in a different place. I wear a size 9.5 boots and have the medium bindings so the size is not a problem. I'm about to start playing around with which holes the heel strap is connected to. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar problem with this giant heel strap which is supposed to prevent circulation being cut off. |

I doubt it's the strap. Get fitted for new boots by someone that's been fitting boots for a few years. Tell them whats up and they should give you 3 or so boots to try on.
High insteps, if that's what you have, do well in K2 and Ride.
