So I was buying my first set up this year and trying to utilize the end of season discounts. I picked up a L Malavita EST (my boot size is a 10) but the employee ensured me a L would be perfectly fine. Does he know what he's talking about or was he just selling bs?

Burton L fits 10+
If you have a lo profile boot you want mediums, you're boot wont center in the L. But, if you have the boots and bindings put the boot in the binding and see how it fits. If with the toe ramp all the way back you still get very little boot overhang, return the L cause they will have annoying toeside performance.

Nivek how much overhang should there be? He placed a 10 boot in the binding when I was at the store and there was some overhang, the boot was a Restircted Hail if it matters. Also since I bought the bindings while they were on sale I can't return them, so if they don't work then I'm SOL and out 250. They had no mediums which was what I intended to purchase.

Well idealy you want as much toe as heel overhang in the binding. But put the boot on, put stap in, and lean onto your toes. If it seems annoyingly difficult compared to your heels, sell them on ebay or craigslist. And I hate to break it to ya, but unless that's 250 CA, that's not that great of a deal anyway.

Just to add, I have the 9.5 Restricted Hails. They are very low profile. I am able to fit them in large bindings with adjustments.
I actually prefer large bindings even though my boots are smallish for them because it leaves me room for larger boots in case my next pair isn't low profile. By the way, the Malavitas are one of the more popular Burton bindings now next to the Cartels. You shouldn't have a problem selling the Restricted versions at all. |

I have size 11 SLX and I wear Medium Cartel's. I can obviously use L but I find the fit much better on the medium. Super snug and secure without having to crank down a ridiculous amount.
IMO any boots with shrinkage tech size 11 should be in medium for Burton |
