Default Bindings for a Machete?

So I just bought the 2011 Ride Machete on HUGE end of season discount. Now I'm looking to put some bindings on it but am conflicted with what to get.

I'm currently riding a 2010 K2 Parkstar with 2010 Ride Spi bindings. I love the setup! My style is I ride everything on the mountain! From slashing the groomers to hitting the boxes/rails in the park to airing it out on the jumps. I also like to just BOMB down the hill when the traffic is light.

For the Machete I have been looking at the Flow NXT-AT or -FSE. I've also been looking at the Ride Nitrane Contraband. Just wondering what you guys thoughts are on these? Any insider help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!!

P.S. I love the canted footbed of the Spi's!!!!

2012 Salomon Chiefs, 2012 Raiden Phantoms, or 2012 NXT-ATse's

Binding choice is really a personal preference. Some people like the quick entry feature of the Flow's, Contraband or K2 Auto's whereas I myself prefer your more traditional binding setup.

For park/all-mtn you probably want a mid-flex binding like what Nivek recommended (you can add to that list the Rome 390). Contraband is still all-mtn capable but is aimed more at park riders. At the extreme end you have Flux Rk30, Union Contact etc. which are softer park bindings. I'd say you can still ride them all-mtn but if you're still doing a fair amount of all-mtn riding then mid-flex is your best bet.

Thanks guys! I've looked at all the ones you have recommended and I think I'm gonna go with the contrabands. It has the stiffness and stability when I want to do some hard carving/freeride and the softness/tweakability for when I want to freestyle it up. Plus they have the canted footbeds that I really like.

Contrabands do not have stiffness. Get Nitranes if you want thongs on your boot.

I'm a noob around here. But I have just ordered the Rome 390s to go with the machete. The 390s are highly recommended around these forums.

Best of luck!
