Just got myself a new board. Now i need some new bindings.

Done some research and really only four bindings come out of it

Union Force
Union Contact
Rome 390
Flux TT30

Only problem is locating these at a decent price in New Zealand which isn't easy!

What i can get for a good price are some Union Flites. Has anyone used these? Heard they are a slightly cheaper version of either the Force or Contact (can't remember which).

Just wan't to be sure the Flites aren't going to ruin my new ride!

They are a blend of Forces and Contacts. Get the TT30's I say.

TT30's are the most comfortable bindings in the world (well, any of the Flux line I have tried). 390's are a solid binding too - maybe a little tiny wee bit more responsive than the Flux. Cant help on the Unions

Don't get Unions.. I bought a pair last year because of all the hype. They're nothing special. And the ratchet's get loose all the freaking time

Unfortunately Unions are all i have access too. I have no idea what the hype is all about and it seems 50% of people have trouble with union and 50% love them. If i could get Rome 390 Boss's i would but there are none in New Zealand at a decent price. There are no flux bindings at all in New Zealand. Don't actually have a lot of choice!

I'm no expert reviewer/rider but I have to chime in wholeheartedly second this opinion. I have a pair of Forces that I bought due to internet hype. I should have dug a bit deeper, as they are frustratingly over-rated. After 15 days of riding them the ankle ratchet on my lead foot won't clamp down on the ladder, the toe ratchets slip up regularly, and the toe straps themselves won't stay on my boots to save their lives. I have watched the C3 videos and understand how they are supposed to fit, btw. They would literally be slipped off by the time I reached the bottom of 90% of my runs. And forget it if I hit a jump on the way, instant slippage. I would only recommend them if you have no other choice, including Burton Cartels which I put back on my Capita as even they are better.

There is way to much hype for these bindings and their value to the dollar. I'm sure they work for some people, but the forum hype is far too misleading about their likelihood of working for everyone.


I have wide Salomon boots, btw, if that helps with perspective.

Some 390s just came up on local auction site. They are not the bosses but i assume normal 390s are still fine. Is L/XL fine for size 9 burton rulers? Doing a mad search on sizes now as i don't want to miss out!

Just purchased them. Couldn't afford to miss out. They are Rome 390 Acids with only a few days use apparently.

L/XL should do it. I have 7.5 Firefly boots that are maxing out my S/M's I picked up(though my boots could just be bulky).
Acids? Jealous. I picked up a pair of the collage white/black ones, but I wish there had been acid ones available.

The only difference between the 390s and the 390 bosses are the canting. I'm going to contact Rome in a couple weeks and see if they'll let me buy a set of cant pads from them.

The acids do look sweet. Black/White would probably go better with the board though!
