This forum pumps Flux a lot, with a lot of people using them who approve. All I can say is what I saw with my eyes.... They seriously looked to be made for children.

Rome 390 are time tested and known to have arguably the most comfortable ankle strap on the market. The footbed isn't cush like k2 though

Union Force is a virtually bomb proof binding that really doesn't do any one thing exceptionally well, or is exceptionally comfy, but it's a binding that does everything.

I recently checked out the k2 Auto Uprise and fell in love. However, it's not a park specific binding.

The footbed has an industry leading comfort level. The ankle strap is very very close to being as comfy as the 390. The toe strap is nothing short of amazing. The ratchets are also very smooth.

I personally think the k2 Auto Uprise has raised the bar as long as they stand the test of time. They have incorporated pretty much everything strongly desired in a binding.

Oh and the auto strap system has been shown to stand the test of time, which was the major concern with these bindings.

If anything, try and go peep some bindings yourself, or hit a demo day. You can read till your blue in the face, but peeping the binding will seal the deal. I was super sketch on the k2 bindings until I saw them in person. They're very legit..

Only thing I have to compare them to are Burton bindings (not sure which one) and some Technines but the K2 Uprises are very comfy. You can feel the cushion (harshmellow)

Rome 390 are a phenomenal park binding... I don't currently know of any binding more comfy for park riders.

I'm really liking what k2 is doing with the harshmellow, and just picked up a pair myself.

Call me old or whatever, but I like a nice padded binding that feels like a cadillac when I ride.
I don't know which flux bndngs your friend had but they are definitely not fisher price lol.
And padding is in the technology man. Those things feel like a caddy for sure.
I can't wait till the new 2012 flux TT30's hit the stores in September.

The rome bindings are good but not compatible to the flux, and Rome's seem popular just cause a lot of kids use them. There isn't really any research behind binding shopping, just whatever trend there is.
Anyway just my opinion, and I also like the direction that K2 is heading in.
I have a pair of those too and so far, they are great.
I'm not a complete jerk lol. But really man, look into what flux has been doing lately.

I'm fully aware of what Flux is doing. I'm saying what I'm saying based upon what I saw, and tried to make that clear.

They don't make a binding big enough for my foot or I'd try them.

Unless they have something that now fits a size 14 as of this year...

Ouch! That's gotta suck shopping for boots too..
I feel your pain man, no arguments from me.
I don't know much anyway lol... Just going on the brands that really made an impact on my riding.
Lib-tech and flux all the way for me lol.

k2 is a brand that is sometimes overlooked. But after riding my K2 auto drones for a year now (60+ days) ive found that they are built really well, durable, definitely comfortable(canted footbeds) and the autos are nice and easy strapping in. Check out the auto uprise or the formulas.

Also, my 390s were really good but i think i got them a year before they put good plastic into them. Almost all the plastics (-ladder straps and baseplates) have cracked and weakened. The discs are basically deteriorated. good bindings other than the shitty plastic of the model year.
