Union Force/Rome 390s/Targas

I know I know... Everyone is probably sick to death of answering these questions.

I'm buying new bindings this year and I'm stuck between Union force, Rome 390s, or Rome Targas

I'm 5'11, 180lbs
I ride a Rome Slash (156W). I'm a freestlye rider, I rarely go into the park.
I've been riding for a couple years now, so I'd like to think I'm past that beginners phase.

I've read a lot of pros and cons between both companies bindings and I just want some clarity from people who have ridden them, or currently have them as part of their set up.

Looking for a neutral opinion on each binding, and a recommendation for a set that would be best for me.

Thanks

i have a pair of rome 390's. like them- very comfortable, very adjustable.

only problem is that they're a little big for my boots, but that was probably my fault for getting the large size.

btw, you might have an issue with the paint chipping in some places, but it has no effect on the binding itself. some people are really anal about that kind of stuff, but meh.

no.

What kind of boot do you have and what size?

I have the 2011 rome 390 bosses. I have a size 11.5 boot, weighed about 190 at the time. I got about 60 days on them total before they completely broke. They do chip but who cares. The main problem I had with them is that the ankle strap would open after hard landings, specifically after doing spins of booters that are 20 feet plus. If they lasted I would have loved them. This first started happening after 40 days approximately.

Ok, not to thread highjack but would you recommend 390 boss for a NS evo w/ size 9.5 Burton hail boots (with shrinkage tech so roughly a size 8.5) or Union Force?

It seems to be really hard to find any Rome bindings.

I live in a pretty desolate area so I don't have a local shop to buy from.

Has anyone come across a reputable online retailer that has targas or 390s in stock??

Unions seem to be everywhere!

the house, dogfunk/backcountry, porter's tahoe etc. all are planning to get Rome bindings in this fall. Union shipped a little earlier and some of the Ride, Forum and Burton stuff is arriving at the shops in the Philly area. By October, most of the brands will at retailers and online retailers.

I had this ratchet problem too. Giving them a slap down after strapping in helped. But what I did to completely solve this problem was ask for new ratchets. They sent me replacement ratchets that worked much better. They didn't look pretty, but that's not what I was concerned with.

You should contact Rome and have them warranty your bindings.

Im considering these 3 bindings too;

Union Force - toe strap issue so check fit with your boots
Rome - paint seems to chip and reliability not as good as the unions

There's pros and cons for both it seems but I'm swaying towards the unions assuming the toe strap fits my 32 Prospect boots.

Still researching the Targas though.
