Union/Capita Ultrafear2 - Snowboarding Forum

So guys I'm in the market for some new bindings..

Do you think that the Ultrafear that is just a differently designed Union contact, with it's amazing looks will have a large negative difference over the contact pro which cost's the same, but have a few better features?

Some of the main differences between the contact pro and the ultrafear 2:
- Triple zone base for the pro, and only contact base for the ultrafear
- Cored out high back for pro, and team for the ultrafear

Some of the similarities
- 3d straps
- The high backs are the same shape (contacts vs custom house, is the team high backs are a nicer shape)
- Basically everything else is the same as the pro (straps, rackets, heal cup)

My comparison is just from seeing the pro's in the shop, and I own Union PBR (which are the exact same as the ultrafear). Personally I do like the flex of the team high back over the pro's. The pros are slightly more advantageous in the weight and base stability.

But your choice really depends on if you want a binding which is a little be more lighter or a binding which looks rad. I personally wanted something that looked awesome.

The weight differences will be so insignificant I wouldn't even take it into consideration. Really it depends more on the type of feel you prefer. I think they'll be very similar, so if it comes down to looks go with which one you think looks best.

Ultrafear two has Gigi's straps from the Contact Pro and the Team highbacks, which is a stiffer highback than is on the Contact. That is the two differences besides the graphics. If you want a more supportive / responsive binding, this is the choice of the two.

Thanks guys. I went with the Pro's today because the highback felt better with my boots and they looked great on my board.
