Did anyone else pair a Proto and Targas together here? Have you ridden this combo? How'd you like it?
I went against all conventional wisdom and ordered the Targas lol. I love those bindings that much. Gives me an excuse to look for a stiffer board if it doesn't work out on the Proto (I'm sure I can work it though haha). I'm more looking for peace of mind here. The 390 Boss is optimal for me on this board, but I already have those and I'm too lazy to keep swapping them between my boards. |

The Malavitas are a great pairing especially if you can land yourself a pair of the restricted non-est winged versions. They aren't a park specific binding. They are mid flex and great for all-mountain freestyle. Trust me, if the company I work for carried those, that's what I would have got. I still love the Targas and have always planned on adding it to my collection. I just said wtf and got them now and will try them on Proto for shit and giggles. I really like the Proto with Rome 390 Bosses though. I have them on my Evo and it's just a matter of me being too lazy to constantly swap between the two boards. You could also go with: Ride Rodeo: Same as last years Deltas with some tweaks. Mid-flex binding that is very comfortable with excellent toe straps Ride Maestro: Mid-stiff binding and is last year's Alphas. Thin ankle strap that you can barely feel is there, but gives you the support you need. It's a forgiving ankle strap, while the chassis and highback of the binding is responsive. |

I personally only like the wings for the comfort. It just adds comfort, but I can still do without them. That's why I'm saying get it if you have the option between the two.
I don't really notice much performance difference. Maybe it helps me lean into my presses more? But I don't really have a problem pressing anyway. Again, just a comfort thing for me. I like the feel of the wing on the back of my boot. And no, I've never tried them on the inside. That doesn't sound appealing at all haha. |
