My potential setup;
My style of riding will be all-mountain freeride hedging into park riding. I've done some research into boot/binding combos and have come up with this setup. 2011 Ride Machete 161w with Salomon Chief bindings and either the Salomon Synapse or F20 boots. I'm leaning towards the Synapse because it sounds like a better match, but the reduced footprint on the F20 is cool too. If the Synapse had foot reduction there would be no contest, but considering the waist width on my old Rozzy board was 272 and the Machete is 262, I may need the foot reduction with my size 12 boots.
I currently have been riding with Salomon binding/boots for over a decade and like them, but technology and all that has changed so much. Every brand seems to get a good review from somewhere. I'd be more curious about those who have actually tried out the combo I'm interested in and list possible flaws of this setup given my 'ideal' ride down the mountain (below)
I'll take a lift to the top of the mountain and ride pow down a double black diamond run and maybe drop a cliff on my way down to the bottom of the run where I'd hit up the rails and a few park jumps.
So, does anyone have this binding/boot setup? The review on youtube of the Chief binding was very positive, right up my alley, but anyone can endorse any product, lol.
