Default 390 Boss Size Issue

I'm rocking size 9.5 and 10 boots- K2 Darkos and Thirty Twos- both of which are clamped down and mashed by my S/M 390s. I know alot of people mentioned this about ROME's bindings- the lack of a real M size. My thing is I love the bindings other than the size issue. You guys have suggestions for comparable bindings that come in a medium?

My S/M 390s are already adjusted to the max- so its not a setting issue.

Most binding in M go no large than 9. I would go with a L binding if I we're you.

Actually, Burton M size bindings supposedly go up to size 11. However, for bulkier boots like Vans Fargos (admittedly very bulky boots) size 10.5 is probably the max - my size 10 Fargos work ok.
the L/XL 390s are a perfect fit at the medium settings, so should be possible to adjust them for OP's boots.

That said, I am not sure how/why undersized bindings would "clamp down and mash" boots...

All I was saying is better safe then sorry. Most L/XL accommodate 10 better than M do. I have 390 Boss in M and wear 10s with shrink technology and they work just fine for me but 9 seems to be the Max for them. On the box it recommended only up to 8.5 so not sure why he thought they would work.

The s/ms go up to 9.5- the size compatability chart indicates that on their website. My size 10s were bought after the fact. But I thought the 9.5 K2s would have fit better.

As for the mashing- thats basically when I got to force my boot into the heel cup- the clamping down is basically the toe strap- which is a pain to get seated and ratched with 9.5 boots. Def should have gotten the LGs- but thats what I get for shopping online.

I have size 9 Nike Kaijus. Bought the s/m 390 Boss's and had a similar issue so I returned them for l/xl and they were great.

I wear size 10 thirtytwo lashed and the fit is perfect in the L/XL. S/M is too small for size 10.

That's also because burton doesn't really have XL binding like some other binding companies. Might be because they have a separate set of female bindings

Hey CharkieKeaton

Just wanted to chime in real quick. Typically for size 9.5 boots and over, we'll recommend L/XL sizing on our hybrid bindings. This is mainly due to the fact that not all boot sizes are the same across the board. This gets even more confusing with things like shrinkage tech, footprint reduction, etc.

Minimizing the L/XL bindings to the smallest heel hoop size will fit 9.5's perfect. A lot of people ride as small as size 8.5 boots with L/XL bindings and they still fit great, even better when you put the toe adjust straps in the furthest back setting.

If anyone's ever got sizing questions, feel free to shoot us an email and we're stoked to help out.

Shred on

Appreciate the feedback from Rome. Just picked up another pair of 390s Decade Colletion L/XL- so I am all set. Still- its pretty cool of you to respond.
