I've seen the forum favorites and I want to go in that direction, I just want to make sure I get the sizing correct.
5'9" 175 lbs 2nd year (boarded a few times when I was younger) size 9 Kaijus 157 NS Proto CT I'll be hitting the groomers, a few back bowls, woods, trying to butter and hit little kickers on the way down. I want to do a little bit of everything. May spend ~15% of the time in the park. Groomers 40-60% Woods 15-20% What would you suggest? I'd appreciate canting for my knees, because everyone claims it helps. I'm not the most demanding rider so I want something that fits well and I don't think about again. I had the Ride Rodeos last year and they never felt great (probably didn't set them up well). |

I have a Proto myself with Raiden Blackhawks. If I were to do it again, I'd go with the Phantoms.
Super comfy and smooth ratchets. Both have canting but the Phantoms have better dampening. Plus, the red or blue would be amazing on a Proto! |

I've really been looking at the Burton Malavita and the 390 Bosses, because they have such great reviews.
I was hoping to get some people to reply who've used these bindings either with the Kaiju or with the proto or the Evo. Just to hear another perspective. Thanks for reply. |

I liked my K2 Uprises on my Proto last year, albeit they practically disintegrated in about 45 days. I'd still use them, but I'd skip the auto and go with the Company.
Also I believe the Cartel and Malavita are both great pairups for the Proto. I'm a plastic - unibody base kinda guy hence these choices. I'll be putting Malavitas on an Evo this year. I'm the same size as you are (175lbs, size 9), but ride a '54. There is alot of range on this board imho, so there's really not a wrong answer. The '54 was perfect for me, and my Evo will be a '54 as well.

Well, that about covers them all.
I'm really focusing on the Rome 390 or the Malavitas/Cartels at this point. Have any of you used these with Kaijus? I'd like to snow sizing, Thanks for all of the replies so far. Everyone says the Romes are really heavy, do they make that much of a difference? I'm still new. Snowklinger, since I'm staying with the Proto, do you think I should size down? I rode a 153 pickle last year and I wasn't a huge fan. I assumed it was too small for my weight. |
