I didn't have a problem with the contraband. I like the strap so much I put it on my cinch chassis. I've been riding it for a couple of years now. If my experiment blows up just have to put the old straps on which take less than a minute.

I can understand people having problem with the contraband, there are too many variations on external dimension of boots. It would cause a problem especially if your boot size is the border between binding size. Some boots are taller than others.
