New bindings for the new board...

Getting a new setup. Got the boots (Ride Insano size 9.5) and have the board narrowed to 3: NS Cobra (most likely), Lib Lando, Jones Mountain Twin. I guess I'm a freerider, but I don't really bomb at high speed or do any crazy chutes/big mountain stuff. Mainly groomers, glades, and searching for powder in bounds. No park, no tricks, no switch. 95% of my riding is in Washington state/Whistler, so heavy, chunky snow most of the time.

Sounds like I'm going to need a moderate to stiff flexing binding. I handled some in the shop and can really see what people mean about the Union toe strap not being as "smooth" as the others.

It seems like decent options would be:
Burton Cartels
Burton Malavitas
Burton Genesis
Rome Targa
Ride Capo
Flux SF45

Thoughts? Advice?

Got the Cobra and am slapping 390 bosses on mine, but only because I want to share the bindings with my Westmark and got them stupid cheap. Leo (and maybe Snowolf) confirmed they used both.

I'd vote for cartels personally. I just like the FNF of the Burton bindings.

Chef Jer....what is the Cobra going to do for you that your J. Lynn Phoenix can't? I was looking at the Lando/J. Lynn Phoenix but can't tell the difference other than artwork and slightly more setback on the Lando. I'll only have one board, and have had a hard time deciding between the Cobra, Heritage, the 2 Lib boards and the Jones Mountain Twin.

Cobra is softer than the phoenix. I bought the phoenix a year used at a steal. It's gonna be my early/late season shit snow icy groomer board. I have a heritage for sale.. I wanted something a little more playful and a little better in pow... hence the cobra. The cobra is gonna be my good snow mid season board. Heritage is up for sale as it no longer fits in my quiver.

If your only going to have one board go with the cobra.

I'm that dreaded size 9.5 boot which is between the S/M and L/XL that Rome puts out. They only have the S/M left and I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on that. I do NOT ride a reduced footprint boot. The color combo, though, would be sweet with a Cobra.

Anyone ride the Tagras in a S/M w/ a 9.5 boot?
