Flow M9 SE - For newbs - Snowboarding Forum

Whats up everyone, I am a newb to snowboarding, and i will be going snowboarding for the first time hopefully in 3 weeks. I have my own board / boots / bindings, but i went against common sense when i purchased my bindings. I got flows. Has anyone ever learned on flow bindings, and how much of a pain in the ass am i facing with them ?

I learnt on these. They are great, I had no problems at all with them, and they are still my only pair of bindings.

I didn't set them up though, apparently they are a bit trickier to set up than most bindings.

aww kk. I set mine up, and i have no idea wtf im doing. I set my front binding @ +15 , and my back binding at +3... I hope tthey make me flow =D <-- lame ass joke, but i try <3.

Biggest tip i can tell you is to set them up at home and don't do them up too tightliy
they should be snug but they're not like other bindings where you ratchet them all the way down.
If you ratchet them all the way down you wont be able to step in. There'es a sweet spot where you can step in really easily and it be really tight.
It takes time to figure out though

Ahhhh sweet, thanks for that tid bit, because i have them so tight right now that it takes me a second to get my foot into them chilling in a chair. Thanks for that !

Yeah wayyyy too tight, you should be able to pull the highback up really easily but have it snug.
Most people who say it's hard to step in never took the time to set them up properly

I just set them up again, my highback kinda pushes my foot forward slightly, but no where near as hard as it used to be, and they are still really firmly in place. No heel lift from what i could tell either, hell ya man thanks =D !

most of the time you will get the high back pushing forward a little bit.

You can also take a mister of water and spray your boots and bindings to maybe get them to that perfect set up maybe just a tad tighter. As your boots/bindings will be wet at the hill and will slide in a bit easier as well.

What year are your flows? And what boots did you get?
Flow bindings are not a pain in the ass. They could be a pain in the ass just like any other binding if you made a bad combo.

I bought all of this stuff a year and a half ago when it went on sale, but my first snowboard trip fell through at the last minute. THE SHIT IS GOING DOWN IN JANUARY THOUGH !

My bindings dont match anything that i am wearing, nor do they match my board, but I figure since i got them ,might as well learn with them.
