Burton Mission EST adaptor disc for pre 2011 channel - Snowboarding Forum

Ok guys.....settle down...I haven't asked this question before.....

After talking with union, it is apparent union bindings are not going to fit on my pre 2011 channel (m5). So I am looking at the Burton Mission EST 2013 bindings. My question is do I still need a adaptor now that i am getting burton bindings or do I need to get a adaptor disc for it as well?

I have an answer for the Union bindings on pre 2011 channel boards.
I've used union forces (not the onespictured) on my 09/10 joystick and had no problems using the M5 hardware with Union's compatible disk. I had to crank the hardware all the way down to make it work. The bushings on the hardware were shot therefore after, but it worked. ImageUploadedByVS Free1353521946.709316.jpg

Ok so what are bushings? I am a total newb so please bear with me. Is this a safe route to go? the bindings wont fall off or be lose because i am using hardware not ment for the disc?
