Default 2012 GNU Mutant switch with 2011 Cartels???

So this year I went out and got a whole new setup, and with advise from the board I picked up a 159 Lib tech TRS and GNU Mutants. Most people on here weren't sure about the bindings, and after riding them for 6 days I am starting to think I made a $250 mistake. The good thing is that last year my bindings of 10+ years broke and I bought 2011 Cartels at the base of my mountain and still have them to put on my new TRS.

Is this a good idea? I feel like I have the GNU's setup wrong and at the end of the day I am not sure they are that much faster strapping in?

Also, how can I tell if the GNU's are setup properly? I am the kind of person that just straps in and rides (very little park) and have been doing so for 16+ years...so I am not even sure how the response on turning is suppose to feel. All I do know is that something doesn't feel right and it is starting to become noticeable while riding.

Thanks in advance for any and all comments...the good, the bad, and the ugly!

Yea, the Gnu's were a mistake. I hate to say it, but they are garbage. If you've only ridden them 6 days you may want to talk to the shop and see if they are willing to help you out in any way on a swap or credit. It could go either way, but it doesn't hurt to ask. If they do work with you on the bindings expect to take a loss on them. Your Cartels will be a great match for the TRS.

Quick update...since I have learned quite a bit for the forum.

I strapped on the 2011 Cartels and quickly remembered why I was so excited about trying to find a rear entry binding. While my heelside turns felt super responsive I just never felt comfortable while on my TRS. It was the same last year while still riding my 1999 Santa Cruz (I know, super old board). I rode them for a couple of days and then decided to try the GNU Mutants one more time...however this time I was going to try and get them setup correct with a local board shop. I did this yesterday and WOW, I fell in love with them. There are some things I don't like (they aren't that much faster for one), but my confidence while riding shot through the roof and I just felt like they were right for me.

The Cartels, really are a superior binding to the mutants and a good match for the TRS. My assumption is that you have not gotten the Cartels setup correctly on either board. Sounds like it doesn't matter since you are going with the mutants, glad you were able to get them dialed in.
