I never noticed them being soft, which is why I'm not sure why people recommend them for a park binding (besides pipe). The ankle straps on some years were pretty soft, but I never found any slop in the chassis or highback. I've pretty much always recommended them as an all mountain medium flex binding.

That's exactly what I now think. I kept reading they were on the soft side of medium.

If I can adjust to them then I may keep them around for my cobra. At first I thought they might be underpowered but don't think that anymore.

Like you, I found my 2011 390 BOSS to be surprisingly responsive (compared to my 2008 or 2009 regular 390s). They were in a pretty good mid-flex range and I had them on my NS SL 155.

I had toestrap/bootfit issues (my boot kept ending up on to of the outer ridge of the binding... I tried a lot of configurations) and so I switched them for a pair Burton CO2s (they fit my boots a lot better).
