Recommendation - Snowboarding Forum

I am a beginner and I am looking to build a cheaper setup for the season to make sure I really like the sport enough to dive in.

I bought a Nitro Prime board and was looking at 3 different bindings (mainly due to pricing)

Ride LX 2012 ($70)
Ride Rodeo 2012 ($150)
Union DLX 2013 ($130)

Will the LX be sufficient? Will I be gaining much by going with either the Rodeo or DLX? if yes, which of the two would be better suited for me. I plan on just doing freeriding no tricks or such.

Have you checked craigslist?
150 can get you a nice rocker like a 2009-2011

I haven't really checked CL yet, I was just looking at new stuff to be honest. I will check them out. I figured the LX was cheap enough to start, but I heard buying better boots and bindings is recommended as most people usually upgrade boards as they go along.

what i did was just figure out the exact gear i wanted (for me burton clash board and mission bindings) found that on ebay within one week and had it in 2 1/2. I'm kind of addicted to ebay tho.

i bought LX's as my first pair of bindings last season.

their pretty dope to start with , i've beaten the living shit out of my pair though.

i got really addicted last season.

i'd recommend them for a beginner. didn't have any issues.

Thanks for the replies. I think I will go for the LX and see how they treat me for the season. Now its off to REI to try on some boots.
