Binding Advice
 

Hi, I need to choose some wide bindings that will fit my Salomon Synapse boots. I have a pair of Large Ride Capos but they are a terrible fit due to them being borderline too small and WAY too narrow, so I will need a to buy a new pair it seems that will actually fit my boot.

They'll be on a K2 Turbo Dream 161 with size 11 US (10.5 UK) Salomon Synapse boots, and I am in need of bindings with which I'll be able to shred the whole mountain, although I'd rather they were slightly on the stiff side.

So far I've been thinking about: Burton Missions, Burton Cartels, Burton Malavitas, Rome 390s, what do you think?

Salomon Chief or Flux SF45. Burtons are narrow in the heel. The Union toe strap has a hard time fitting well on the Synapse, Romes are decent.

hmm, those two will both be very difficult to get a hold of for cheap, but I can try. Are you sure Burtons will not fit? I can see a pair of new Missions from 2012 for £95, which is a very good deal here in the UK!

also how about K2 Company bindings? Have found a good deal on a pair of those too

As Nivek has pointed out, Burton bindings can run narrow. For bulkier boots like Vans Fargos (admittedly very bulky boots) size 10.5 is probably the max - my size 10 Fargos still work ok.
Straps are fine and length of the 'footbed' is about sufficient (with gas pedal furthest out), I just have to insert the boots into the bindings fairly 'straight' (i.e., can't come at too much of an angle, otherwise they get 'stuck').

I had the same problem with my (US 13) Van's going into Ride Delta's, they were too skinny and I had to kick my boot's into them. I shaved the outer part of the sole's with a rasp. I ended up getting new boots (Nitro Anthem) with reduced footprint, they fit great. Seems like the Ride bindings are made for reduced footprint boots.

My suggestion would be to take your boot's with you when you look at bindings to make sure they fit.
