Quick question on a binding choice!
hey everyone, so i have the choice between a pair of Burton Cartel Est's that are brand new and cost 100$, or Burton Cobrasharks from 2012 that are 118$$, im siding with the cartel's but im worried that because their 2010's that they might be "outdated"....any feedback about either binding would be most appreciated.

Define "outdated" :dunno:

Since the early 90's, in general bindings have had two straps, a footbed, and a highback. They've progessed through the years but there's nothing crazy about the 2013 models to make them substantially better than 2010 stuff. If they're brand new and you like the price, why not?

Cobrasharks are okay, but I thought Cartels were a higher end binding? Seems like a no-brainer to me...

Do you have a burton board?

EST bindings can only be used with burton boards that have their ics channel.

i've been riding the same cartels since late 2009 and haven't had any problems, I can't seem to get rid of them - I've got almost 200 days on them.

Re: Quick question on a binding choice!
Cartels used to have a good amount of built-in forward lean. I don't remember which year they took it off. Might want to take that into consideration.

Otherwise, the Channel is quite easy to set up.
