Flying V and Cartels??

I'm confused!!

I already own the Burton Cartel bindings. The exact ones are shown on the link below and are not the EST, so far as I can work out:

Burton Cartel Bindings | Burton Snowboards (Archive)

After 10 years of intermittent snowboarding on one board, I have just bought a new Custom Flying V.

Can anyone provide some adivce on whether my current Cartel bindings are OK for the board, as much of the advice says that the EST are better. What is the difference, if any?

Also, I do not currently have the correct base plate to fit to the board. As I only have the one with four holes. Can I simply use these bindings with the appropraite base plate and if so, where can you get these. Most on-line shops don't seem to stock base plates alone.

Any help would be great, as off for 10 days in Avoriaz at the end of the week

Those non-EST bindings will work fine for your new board. Just visit any Burton dealer and they should be able to hook you up with the discs that you need.

the EST bindings are supposed to offer a better under foot flex and feel than the disc bindings which are more rigid.

I have cartel est with the custom x and Sherlock (flying v). A lot of people will say burton Flying V unstable. I experienced the same thing. One fix for me was having 88 degree edges. Now when I am on edge, I feel real secure.

Cartels are just awesome. I am not sure there is any all mountain board these will not work for. But I have the 2011 and 2012. I hear the 2013 are very different. What year do u have?
