Hi guys. I'm a new snowboarder. I currently have Burton Freestyle bindings, but they don't fit my boot, and people say bad things about them, so I will have to return them. What bindings should I get? I'd like to get something that I can grow into, as I get better, because I think I'm progressing quickly. I'm 5'8, 140 lbs, I have Thirty Two Summit boots, and a Ride Agenda board. Thanks.

#1 who cares what people say about Freestyle's, research the product for yourself, that's what the internet Is for.
#2 If we stick to Burton, and you want to step up to a little more snappy binding and your obviously into what everyone else likes, so burton makes a really popular bindings including one of the most popular bindings called the Cartel, staple binding. too many people love Cartels.

^+1. Burton's are extremely popular just because of their marketing and their previously good track record(when their things were made in the US). They get all the snowboarders that are very well known. Point and case, Shaun White. He's very well known. But the Cartel's are very well made, BUT their are "better" (better in quotation marks because it's up to your personal preference. There is no such thing as a binding being better than other's) bindings out their. Flux, Ride, Rome, Union, all make more comfortable bindings, and they just handle better in my opinion. Take a look into these companies.

1) Everyone here is correct so far.

2) Burton freestyles are not bad bindings. Just because they dont fit your boot properly and "people have been saying bad things" doesn't mean they are awful. I have them with Ride Anthem BOA boots and I love them. Great "beginner-intermediate" bindings.

3) If you want popularity and snazz, stick with Burton. But I must say Union makes some awesome looking bindings as well as great quality.

I don't need popularity or snazz. I just want good quality, and hopefully at a good price. Freeride is mostly what I'll be doing. I'm new to snowboarding so I don't even know the brands. Can you guys recommend some specific models, keeping in mind that I plan on progressing quickly.

Dude I wouldn't worry to much about it...If your brand new to riding but looking to progress quick there are a ton of bindings that will work just fine for you. Freestyles are burton's intro binding and will work fine for you but if you want something to really grow into, grab some Burton Missions or cartels. Like I said there are a handful of good binding companies though and they all make a binding that would work good for you. Don't listen to your homies, especially if they've never rocked what theyre talking about. Use your computer wisely and research a product and get it's reviews before you buy, be and educated buyer. quality binding companies--Burton, Union, Ride, Flux, Rome--Enjoy
