Help choosing bindings!!

hey everyone i posted a while back asking a question regarding buying a pair of new 2010 Cartel's (i have NO idea why the website still has these but they're brand new) vs. buying a pair of 2012 cobrasharks....most people sided with the cartels.

now im wondering whether the cartel is a good binding for free riding. i was reading that you would want a more stiff binding for free riding and that flex is good for park?? (please correct me if i'm wrong)

i really wanna learn what flex is good for, cause i know the cartel's are a 7 on burton's flex scale. if the cartel's are not good for free riding, are the any other suggestions that you can give that are under 200$$ (i prefer them to be burton est type)

thanks you!!
